Prayers for a New School Year

For many in our listening area, the first day of school kicks off this week! We've been thinking about and praying over kiddos and parents as the school year begins. Here's what we've been sharing on air:

"Creator God, who parents us all, hold my heart as I practice letting go, hold this child as the school day begins..."

During Afternoons with Kara & Robert, Kara shared this prayer from Every Moment Holy: "A Liturgy for Dropping Off a Child at School" by Alli R. Dahlgren. In it is a prayer for parents to speak over their children, reminding all of us that God is ever present with our kids as they learn. On The KLRC Morning Show with Mark & Christy, Chaplain Justin stopped by to process what we can do to help our kiddos lean into Jesus and make good choices during what can be an anxious time. He also prayed over all of us as we enter into this school year.

And back by popular demand, Christy put her coaching hat on and gave us a First Day of School Pep Talk as we power into this school year together!
