Thanks to our friends at Sam's Furniture and some generous donors, KLRC's "Feel the Love" AC Giveaway has become a yearly tradition! (And if YOU want to help add to the generosity, details are below!)
Summer is heating up! And for those without proper air conditioning, the sticky heat of a Northwest Arkansas summer will be nearly unbearable. You're invited to nominate someone in your life that may be in need and could benefit from a brand new portable AC unit.
(Perhaps a friend or family member, an individual at church, or even someone you work with on a daily basis.)
KLRC's "Feel the Love" AC Giveaway is an opportunity to show that person in your life some love by nominating them to win a completely free portable AC unit! And when that cool breeze hits their face this summer, they'll be feeling the love, for sure!
We've found that average price per 10,000 BTU unit ranges between $300 - $350. One of the simplest ways to get involved would be to team up with those in your workplace or small group at church to fund an AC unit.
You could even order online and have them shipped directly to KLRC or drop them off in person. We'll make sure that your AC is received by someone who truly needs it.
Here are a couple of well-priced recommendations:
"She lives in a portable shed. Has many disabilities and health issues and really needs an air conditioner. Kim is a wonderful person. She needs this sooo badly. It would be a blessing from God for her to receive this. Thank you for consideration on her behalf and for providing something that can change peoples lives for the better and make them more comfortable."
"This nomination is for my 71 year old aunt who still works full in retail who can barely make ends meet. Her 1991 unit died at the same time her dog got cancer and she took out credit cards to save the dog, which she did, but couldn't afford to fix the ac."
"Do I have a needy family for you!! This is such a WONDERFUL thing you are doing for the community. We have tenants who are displaced because of the tornado- a huge tree fell on the house and it's totally inhabitable. This family has four young boys ages 2, 2, 6 and 8. They are having to find lodging until we can completely redo the house, which will take all summer. They found a house for the month of June but the kids' bedroom - which has a set of bunkbeds and is where the boys sleep - doesn't have A/C. A portable unit would make their lives so much better right now! As you know, prices are exorbitant in hotels and airbnbs right now, because so many people are displaced and they are in demand. So I want to thank you for helping people in this way!!! THANK YOU!!!!"
