When the weather turns cold, we all look for ways to be cozy. Whether it’s a glowing fire, a fuzzy blanket, a mug of hot chocolate, or your favorite sweater. This November, KLRC and Arvest Bank are inviting you to Pay it Forward by donating new or like new winter coats for children in Northwest Arkansas who may not have what they need to stay warm this winter.
It may surprise you to learn that 1 in 7 children in our nation are struggling to have their basic needs met. This is where the non-profit organization Bright Futures stands in the gap, rallying our community to pitch in and help.
Founded in 2011, Bright Futures has been working in with local schools and families to tackle challenging issues ranging from food insecurity and attendance to mentorship and graduation rates for over 200,000 students across the country. They assess the needs of the students and then partner with the community to help provide those resources! Learn more about Bright Futures, here.
If you’d like to join KLRC and Arvest Bank in Paying it Forward, helping to provide new or like new winter coats for students in Northwest Arkansas, there are a few simple ways to jump in and help:
