I love verses like the one we have for our Words of Hope this week. It’s quick and concise – getting the point across and satisfying our short attention spans. If I had just a few seconds with you to describe God’s love for us, I’d tell you this:
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
Living in a world corrupted by sin, we as humans have pretty much perfected the art of wounding each other and breaking hearts. We have devised our own flawed methods of coping, but surface-level patch jobs only go so far. We are so in need of healing that can only come from God...and He is offering it to us.
This is a verse for everyone that says “give me the short version.” It so quickly and so perfectly encapsulates the profound love we are given from our Heavenly Father. Where extreme pain and suffering exists, so exists the awesome love from God that heals like no other.
I pray that we can be receptive to it, and act as conduits for that love for others.
