If we could have coffee today, I'd say, "If you could listen in on my thoughts about myself some days, it would sound like a series of accusations. 'You're not good enough, you need to try harder, you're just being selfish.'"
The harsh words we all hear in our hearts have many sources, including our human selves, the enemy of our souls, and unkind people from our past. But we can be certain they are not from God. We can silence them by saying, "I'm not going to believe or receive this, because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
We don't have to listen to the accusations. We don't have to live by the lies. We are not condemned. We are beloved daughters of a God who freely and fully offers us grace. He isn't our accuser. He is always and only our encourager.
