5 Years Sober

Posted by Jute

I just celebrated 5 years sobriety. Praise the Lord! I was going through a horrible time in my life 5 years ago. I was an alcoholic living in total darkness, sitting alone in my room totally intoxicated. I asked God if He would take me out of this life permanently (I was tired) or if HE would change my life to live for Him. I turned my life over to Him that night! Of course, God wasn’t done with me... I’m still here. After a year sobriety I was listening to 90.9 KLRC and heard this song "There Was Jesus." I have lived every word. When I fell to my knees Jesus had His hand out ready to help me up.

What God Has Done

Posted by Anonymous

Over the years, I have changed. I gave up my old ways for God to work big things in my life, and I just want to thank KLRC for being a part of my life.

Healed!

Posted by Debbie

In October, I suffered a Jones fracture in my left foot. After months of staying off of it, wearing a walking boot, and using a knee scooter, the bone has healed. I am so very grateful to have the use of both feet once again!

Sharing God's Love

Posted by Buck

I wanted to share a story how you’re making a positive difference and helping to make Jesus famous. I’m an SRO for our school district and I have been struggling with the emotional weight that comes from working with kids who come from trauma situations and debating if this job was even worth the effort or made a difference. I was deciding if it was time to find a new job. One day I had to drop my vehicle off at our district Bus Barn for service, and when I picked it up the Service Manager had changed my radio station to 90.9 KLRC. I decided to leave it and started listening to your station. A few days later I had 2 kids who had some issues going on and were having a really bad day so I decided to take them both to lunch and talk it over. As we left for lunch, I had the radio on but turned down pretty low, then one of the kids reached over and turned it up and they both started singing along to the song on your station. I was instantly humbled, and knew God had me right where I was supposed to be. Just one guy working in a bus maintenance barn being obedient to God, and a couple of amazing kids sharing His message of love and hope through a radio station. No matter what you do or where you are you can share God's love.

The Encouragement I Need

Posted by Melissa

I work in behavioral and mental health provider and there are days I cry until I cannot cry anymore. There are things I cannot talk to others about, so I know I can turn KLRC on & will be given the encouragement I needed. You ALWAYS know what song to play at the very moment I most need it. Because of you, I am intentional in my my interactions with others. My two younger kiddos listen to you to and from school and it always opens them up to talk about Jesus. Thank you for reminding me to be a light in a world that often times feels dark and isolating. For all of those who are feeling broken... I ask that you give those pieces to God & watch what He can and will do.

God Has Provided

Posted by Tara

I’ve been listening to KLRC for years. As a struggling single mom most of my boys lives I was never able to donate. God has provided for me in more ways than I’ve ever known. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the love mercy and grace of our Lord and the music and inspirational words that come from KLRC and the staff!

Heaven on Earth

Posted by Melissa

I wish I could express enough how much y’all have helped me not only in the last year but for a few years now. Y’all were there for and with me as my mom started to decline with her kidney failure and in an incredible way since last February as I was told there was nothing more that could be done for my dad and to call in hospice. Your kindness and warmth has inspired me to reach out to others who are hurting. You and everyone else at KLRC are truly Jesus in human form in all you do! Thank you for saving my life. God is so amazing! He doesn’t send the storms of life but He’s there to remind us that He’s the calm in the storm. He counts every tear we shed and grows something beautiful from it. Thank you for giving us all a glimpse of heaven here on earth.

Good God

Posted by Carolyn

I just had to share how KLRC helped one of my students this morning. Colby is a sweet and generally happy child, but he didn't want to go to school because last week he had a couple of bad days. His mother needed my help to even get him in the van because he refused. However I asked God to help me and as we got going picking up other students, the song "Good God" by Chris Renzema came on. As the song was going I could see the mood in Colby's eyes change. He just relaxed and he was himself for the rest of the drive, praise the Lord! Thank you KLRC for helping me to pour into these kids everyday. God is good!

Our Kids Are Listening

Posted by Makayla

So often we don't think kids are listening. We don't consider what they are absorbing through our electronic screens and radio speakers. Our 4 yr old, Carter, and I were headed to school and he said, "Mom turn on the song about God. It says God is in the details." I said, "Buddy, we are listening to songs about God (The KLRC Morning Show was on)." "But Mom," he said, "The one that says God is in the details!" I told him I wasn't sure which song he was talking about and we'd just have to wait to see what played next from the radio. We arrived at daycare and didn't hear it. He was mad at me because I didn't turn it on. A few days pass we're headed home from school and the radio is on but turned down. He said, "Mom! Mom! Turn it up, it's the song!" Sure enough it was! They're listening! We just have to pay attention and talk to them. Thank you for putting God through our speakers!

Keep Moving Forward

Posted by The Percy Family

After losing my daughter Alyssa Faith to a rare genetic disorder (Wolfe Hirschhorn Syndrome), KLRC has played a huge part of helping me gain the emotional and mental strength to keep moving forward. I couldn't thank you enough. My family and I are still picking up the pieces so we don't have much, but the Lord has put in my heart to put Him first by giving back to the very people who are pulling me out of an unexplainable depression. Without KLRC and The Assembly Church we regularly attend in Siloam Springs, only the Lord knows where my husband, our 3 beautiful children and I would be.

Such an Encouragement

Posted by Anonymous

I want to just take a moment to say KLRC is such an encouragement to me. It allows me to refocus on what is true, and encourages me to spread that kindness and truth throughout all the departments I supervise. In our ICU/Critical Care Department, we see a lot of hurt (emotional and physical), pain, and death. KLRC helps me to bring some light to dark times and bring light to our Critical Care Staff who are at the bedside pouring into their patients 24/7. Our staff pray with family members and patients before surgeries, and we reach out to clergymen and women when requested as we know healing is more than just a healing of their body. One of the kindest nicknames (and probably my favorite) that I have received at work is "cup half-full" because in spite of all the hardships and trials we face I always can speak to the positive or silver lining so-to-say, and I owe that ability to be a "positive difference," in a big part, to KLRC. Thank you so much for all you do for our community to lift them up.

Listening at the Nursing Home

Posted by Chelsi

I just want to say thank you for having the app at my job I am outside the listing area and am not able to listen on the radio but because I have the app it makes it possible to listen I work in a nursing home on the Alzheimer’s and dementia unit I put in a request for a Bluetooth speaker that I could connect my phone to and listen to KLRC. Of course they wanted to know what it was so I told them and they said OK and approve my request today. I got my speaker and was able to listen at work. All my patients were dancing, singing, happy, and were saying thank you Jesus and it wouldn’t be possible without the app. All my patients were calmer and it was a good day today. I cannot wait to listen every day.

Listening Overseas

Posted by Anonymous

We are missionaries overseas but can’t reveal what country we are in. Over Christmas we were in NWA. Our special needs ten year old son fell in love with KLRC. He received an Alexa for Christmas before we returned overseas. Now, first thing he does when he wakes up is roll his wheelchair to the Alexa and asks for KLRC. With the beauty of the internet we listen to uplifting Christ filled songs and feel close to home even though we are thousands of miles away. We live in a dark place that needs Jesus. The songs you play give us encouragement every day. Thank you Jesus and thank you KLRC.

Making a Positive Difference

Posted by Mark

I am a school librarian. I play KLRC in my library. When kids come to get a book, they will start singing to whatever song you are playing at the time. About a week ago, I had a school insurance rep in my library to meet with employees concerning coverage. As usual, I had KLRC playing. At the end of the day he made the comment, "I don't feel tired or stressed out, dreading the trip back to Tulsa." He also added that it felt like "he was in church all day worshipping God." So, before he left, we set his vehicle radio to 90.9FM. You are making a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE!

I have had some health problems this summer and the music has been such an encouragement to me. I heard the song "Don't Lose Heart" by Steven Curtis Chapman this morning and it really lifted me up. Thank you for all that you do for our communities and giving God the praise. God bless all of you!

Encouraged Daily

Posted by Deb

KLRC truly makes a positive difference in my life. I don’t get to listen to it as much since I moved away from NWA, but I still turn to it on the app. It fills my soul with love and light. I am encouraged daily by the music and by people’s stories. I am blessed to be able to support this wonderful ministry. It lifts my spirits to know I’m helping others to hear and learn about God’s love for them.

What KLRC Means to Rex

Posted by Kara

Rex is a nonverbal 18 year old with down syndrome and autism. When we met Rex with his parents, Chris and Jamie, we learned that his conditions don't define who he really is. His heart does. And he has the heart of Jesus. When you support KLRC, God is using you to encourage listeners like Rex, his family, and anyone that rides in the car with him! If you'd like to make a special gift in honor of Rex's story, you can give online today.

Hope

Posted by Anonymous

I have been giving regularly for some time... I love this station. It is pretty much "my" station. Always seems to be the song I need at the moment I need. I lost my husband about 1 1/2 years ago. I was worried I would have to stop giving. I'm on disability... so my money each month is not much. But God, He is so good. I listen to His direction. He is my Hope and I want to know others have His hope... the music on this station helps to bring that. It reminds people who He is and that He is always with us. Thank for doing what you are doing. I am grateful that I am still able to contribute. Blessings to each of you and all those that help keep this going.

Addiction

Posted by Anonymous

I am a recovering Alcoholic. I believe my God can heal and give me the resources to keep me sober. This journey has been filled with sobriety and relapses. I still struggle with thoughts of drinking and not feeling worthy. I want to know and love God better. I want to submit to God's will and not take it back. It is a struggle. I have been sober this time for almost one month. I know it is possible to live a life sober. I thank God for his forgiveness, mercies, and grace. Thank you for praying for me. God bless you!

Out Of The Darkness

Posted by Anonymous

Growing up, my parents always played Christian radio. Like most kids I would groan but it made a lasting impact on me. Fast forward to my college years and what did I do when I hit rough times? I would catch myself scanning the radio only to hear you talk about doing the 30 day listening challenges. And off I would go listening to KLRC long past the reason I started and well into the next trial of my life. Fast forward again to my 31 yr old self, a wife and mother of 2 boys. KLRC is the only radio station I listen to. You have helped me in more ways than one. You bring positivity, joy, and peace. Your songs always find a way to hit home and say what I would be feeling without being able to say it myself. I have always thought and wanted to give but never followed through. Last night I followed through with my first gift of single $150. It's not much but it's the best I can do at this time. See, ten days ago my life was forever altered when my best friends called to tell me about an accident. This accident tragically involved her baby girl. Her girls are my girls and my boys are hers. Our hearts are shattered and we are trying to find the strength to pick up the pieces. I have held on to your station more than ever to give me the strength to not only heal my heart but her family's as well. We have a long hard journey ahead of us and we will need you with us. Thank you for being there and bringing me out of the darkness at least for a little bit. Thank you to the people giving so that you can be there. And please keep us in your prayers.

There's Always Hope

Posted by Kaleb

My name is Kaleb, 2011-2018 was a challenging time for me, I struggled finding myself, I lost hope, but most of all I lost my faith. I always felt so alone, and thought if I changed myself into a person I wasn't before then that would help (little did I know it only made it worse in the long run). Near the end of 2018 I went to the Great Passion Play with one of my best friends, and it was near the end of the play where I realized I was really never alone, the Holy Father was guiding me every step of the way to get me to that point. You all helped in a way too in a way, I just love the energy you give every time I hear you on the radio! God bless each and every one of you and even the KLRC listeners out there!

Love the Podcasts

Posted by Anonymous

Holley, Jennifer and Suzie, I can not thank you enough for all of the hope and inspiration your More Than Small Talk Podcast brings me. It is hard to pick a very favorite, but I think mine is probably Episode number 40, "Body Unshaming." I listened to it again today for about the 5th time and I can not relay to you how much it strikes a chord in me. Holley, your story about the little boy who told you you were ugly as a little girl is one that I also lived. Fat and ugly. It took me a long time to dispel that myth within myself. I am 66 years old now and have come to realize over the years that it is what is in your heart that counts and if you have the love of God within yourself, He will bring you the peace and reassurance that you need and His words remind me that I am beautifully and wonderfully made. Holley, I love your brain science, Suzie, I love your strength and calm, and Jennifer I love the way that your love and teach your girls. Thank you all so much! God bless you!!"

Grabbed my Attention

Posted by Judy

Yesterday I was cleaning out my garage listening to my favorite radio station KLRC (whom I support monthly). I was listening to a story about a woman named Judy who struggles with sobriety. As I was listening to her story, I was thinking she has been through what I have. And she has the same name!
