Our Mission: To close the gap between faith and work.
Our Vision: To impact culture for Christ through faith at work and to engage individuals in a faith at work journey, to equip them to live it out at work, and to empower them to give it away to others, especially the next generation.
About: WorkMatters originally began in April 2002 at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Ark., as an outreach to to its own members and to northwest Arkansas. Within 18 months, WorkMatters had attracted the interest, enthusiasm and involvement of people across Northwest Arkansas. Therefore, in October 2003, Central released WorkMatters to become a non-denominational, incorporated 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. At the same time, WorkMatters Board member David Roth answered a call to lead WorkMatters, leaving his position as VP, Sales & Marketing at J.B. Hunt Transport Service. David has served as the President and directional leader for over nine years. Our core values are passion, integrity, relationships, excellence and relevance.
Get Involved: WorkMatters offers many events and activities to engage you to begin your faith@work journey, to equip you to live it out in the workplace and then to empower you to share your experience and wisdom with others, especially, the next generation:
Events - We believe that people learn sitting in rows and grow sitting in circles! We believe in powerful, meaningful, purposeful events! We believe that its crucial to our development as leaders to stretch our minds, to invest time sitting in rows learning how we can live a more purposeful life, especially at work. And, we believe we need to connect with other like-minded people in the process.
-FUSE- A new quarterly WorkMatters event series focused on fusing your work, faith, and life.
-Chick-fil-A Leadercast- An annual gathering of leaders in Northwest Arkansas, featuring simulcast sessions from 9 world class leaders.
-Leadership@Work Studies- A Leadership@Work study is the basic building block to helping business men and women close the gap between their faith and work. Its all about discussing principles about living a Christian life where we spend most of our lives our work. Our goal is to positively influence you and your work and personal life and, as a result, to extend that influence to others.
-Kairos College Institute- The Kairos Institute is a 10-week summer internship and training program created to equip college students with the knowledge, skill and vision needed to be leaders of character ready to serve in the marketplace.
Volunteering- Volunteering is a great way to network and meet like-minded people who are also on a faith@work journey. We are always in need of volunteers to assist us with our quarterly FUSE events, as well as, our annual Leadercast conference. For those of you who want to influence the next generation, you can get involved with our Kairos College Institute. Opportunities include speaking/teaching, providing one-on-one mentoring or offering an internship at your company. In addition, we are always in need of leaders who are willing to lead a Leadership@Work study.
