Vincent Anthony Guaraldi was an American jazz pianist best known for composing music for animated television adaptations of the Peanuts comic strip. Born in San Francisco on July 17, 1928, Vince Guaraldi graduated from Lincoln High School, and then San Francisco State College. In 1955, he put together his own trio with Eddie Duran on the guitar: longtime and Dean Reilly on bass. It soon came to be recognized as the Guaraldi sound. Their songs "Linus and Lucy" and the holiday standard "Christmas Time Is Here" became some of their best known music.
