The last several weeks have been incredible! Thanks to our friends at Sam's Furniture and some generous donors, nearly a dozen AC units have been awarded to nominees of your choosing. And here's some really good news... we still have lots more AC Units to give away!
Now that our summertime heat has officially settled in, you're still invited to nominate someone in your life in need that would benefit from a brand new portable AC unit. When that cool breeze hits their face this summer, they'll be feeling the love, for sure!
We've found that average price per 10,000 BTU unit is around $300. One of the easiest ways to get involved would be to team up with those in your workplace or small group at church to fund an AC unit. You could even order online and have them shipped directly to KLRC or drop them off in person. We'll make sure that your AC is received by someone who truly needs it.
The units we have already purchased appear to be out of stock, but here are some alternate recommendations:
My friend and his family have gone out of their way to help us in our time of need even though they don't have much themselves. They just moved into an old broken down trailer that barely works. It's the first home they could afford. Since they bought it the water/plumbing has give out and frozen more then once... Despite all of this they continue to go out of their way to help others whenever they can. They never ask for help and they never ask for anything they need.
My mom has taken care of me and my own family for so many years and I would love to give back in such an impactful way. My mom always puts my family needs before her own and she's struggling with beating the heat in the very home she raised me in. Through this struggle she is still finding ways that God has blessed her and knows he will take care of this need as well. Please help me bless my mom.
My friend has 3 children and a husband and they have been without a A/C and heater for over a year. They have gotten quotes to get it fixed and it cost so much they cannot afford. They have gone through trial after trial in the last year and a half.
