Mission: At the Helen R. Walton Childrens Enrichment Center, children are our first priority. Our commitment to quality care and education is reflected in all that we do. Since we opened our doors in 1982, our purpose has been to serve families by providing quality care and education for children six weeks of age through pre-kindergarten in a non-profit child development center and preschool. We are a trusted name in the community and the early childhood industry.
About: As the premiere child care center in Northwest Arkansas, by 2009 we have been established and recognized for leading efforts to improve overall child care and child development for our community at large. Our staff makes children their first priority and prides themselves in being an integral part of the team. Programs and funding will be developed to ensure our ability to retain a staff of the best qualified teachers in the area, who have skills consistent with Helen Walton Childrens Enrichment Centers expectations of being the leading facility in Northwest Arkansas. Helen Walton Childrens Enrichment Center will provide high quality care that is affordable for all families. Families and staff will partner together to achieve individual goals and milestones for each child.
Hours of operation are 6am to 6 pm. Open year round, except for major holidays. We care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. There is a low teacher to child ratio. Security system includes building access to authorized parents and guardians only. We provide developmentally appropriate curriculum, new playground, gardens and picnic areas, library and computer lab for children, multi-cultural and community activities, large indoor play areas, extra-curricular activities such as dance, gymnastics, music, swimming lessons and tutoring, higher standards for teacher training and caring and knowledgeable staff.
The Childrens Enrichment Center uses a curriculum program called High Reach Learning. This developmentally appropriate curriculum is research supported. This curriculum package has been used in facilities throughout the United States including public schools, child development centers, and Head Start programs.
Support Opportunities: The Helen R Walton Childrens Enrichment Center uses the financial support of individuals and companies for scholarships. Over the past two years, the Helen R. Walton Childrens Enrichment Center has seen a growing need for scholarship assistance. Scholarships are available to families based on household income and number of people in household. If a family meets the criteria they can receive a 40% or 50% subsidy for tuition.
