Mission:
Cradle of Hope is dedicated to empowering young teen mothers by providing a safe and nurturing environment where they can continue their education, develop essential parenting and life skills, and receive comprehensive support to gain independence and self-sufficiency while building a brighter future for themselves and their children.
History:
COH was the calling of Charity Wimbley after her teen mentee, who had recently given birth, and her adoptive family did not want her back. The facility she was at also said the teen and her baby had to leave, so Charity and her husband brought the teen mom and baby to live with them.
Charity connected with Karon Parrish, a local school counselor, to find out how to enroll her teen in school. Chairty's childhood friend, Christina Varner, who happened to be a CPA, was invited on this adventure of creating a nonprofit to provide safe housing for teen moms and their babies throughout their high school years and until they turn nineteen.
Services:
We provide a safe and supportive home for teen moms and their babies until they become self-sufficient. We provide education coaching, transportation, parenting and life skills training, healthcare access, and comprehensive support that includes financial guidance and holistic well-being. If we provide all the components, we will see personal growth, empowerment, and advocacy in the teens as they become young mothers who can prosper for themselves and their children.
