About:

NWA Second Stage Transition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded by Cecelia K. Dorko in 2019 to bring awareness of domestic violence, sexual assaults, substance abuse, and homelessness in the Siloam Springs Community. The organization was established to empower, provide a safe environment, and an emergency transitional home for battered women who have experienced homelessness due to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual aggression and/or drug and alcohol addiction. At the moment, the organization is offering Day Services Monday-Friday (10a-4p).

Mission:

To encourage empowerment, provide safety awareness, and opportunities to those who want to restore a balanced life and prevent the cycle of addiction, homelessness, and domestic violence.

Services:

  1. Mental Health, Relationships, & Substance Abuse Counseling
  2. Christian Counseling
  3. Assessments
  4. Parenting Education
  5. Anger management
  6. Domestic Violence Prevention/Life Skills Education & Community Resources
  7. Meditation & Mindfulness (10-16 yrs. old)

Residents Manifesto:

To break the cycle of substance abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, homelessness, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and unhealthy dating lifestyles by practicing healthy life skills and sound decision-making.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  1. Mental Health and Alcohol /Drug Therapists are needed (male and female).
  2. Grant writer & Fundraiser
