Originally known as Tree, Tree63 is an alternative CCM group from South Africa. Made up of John Ellis (guitar/vocals), Scoop (bass), and Daryl Swart (drums), the band got together 1996 at a local Christmas music festival. After the success of their album 63 (named after the Psalm), and finding traction in South Africa and the UK from this album, they officially changed their name to Tree63.
