Fierce and Fun Mom, Funny, Faithful
Living in the Star Wars EWOK village working as a veterinarian when I grew up or playing football for the San Diego Chargers because I liked the lightening bolt on their helmet!
Playing sports with my son or watching him play sports, cruisin' in my jeep, biking, and eating cheese dip (possibly at the same time as I do those activities)

Living Beyond Your Inner Squirrel: I'm Sorry, Can You Repeat that, God?
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
I work with a group of people who look and act kind of like you (alien)...who want Jesus Christ, the God of the Universe, to be known to all people because he offers eternal life and freedom for everyone...even aliens! We have a special way that we can tell everyone about him. We play music that talks about him and we also share stories about him. Do you know what music is? Take a listen? Good stuff right? Then we also speak into these silver medal things that allow people to hear us wherever they are so we can spread out message of hope. Our listening family turns on their cell phones (little rectangular communication devices) and can listen to us on what's called an app. Or they can listen at home on cool speakers or in their spaceships with wheels that we call cars. We call it the good news because it will save your life and bring a peace and joy that surpasses anything else! You interested?
I have two favs... and oldie but a goodie: Lord I Need You by Matt Maher, and Perfectly Loved by Rachael Lampa.
The lyrics of Lord I Need You are powerful and jampacked with wisdom and truth. It's a worship song in a posture of true humility...it's this intimate conversation with God expressing our need for him...every hour...He is our guide, our defense, our righteousness, the place we find grace in the midst of our sin, how He stands up for us, and is our resting place.
I love Perfectly Loved because it's a reminder of how we are so deeply loved by a perfect God who sees all of who we are... the good the bad and the ugly and all he wants to do is love us and have a relationship with us. This song dispels lies that we often believe about ourselves and reminds us of the God's deep love for us and the truth about who we are in Him.
I think one of my favorite memories is Mark's reaction to human adult size gummy bears filling the studio and the radio station (including Mark's office) in honor of his birthday. There were giant gummy bears in the hallways, cubicles, offices....everywhere. Then what topped it off...was eating cheese dip in the midst of it all. It was glorious!!
