Compassionate, Adventurous, Gullible
A Gold-medal Olympic swimmer because I figured if I could beat my dad I was the fastest swimmer in the world! It quickly switched to being a surgeon following in the footsteps of actor Chad Everett on Medical Center. Reality – I became a Registered Nurse who still enjoys swimming.
In the winter, I’m by the fireplace, in the summer I’ll spend most of my time outdoors. Camping with my husband and our dog is our latest hobby. Getting together with family and friends is the cherry on top which usually involves eating & talking or playing games.
🤣
One Adventure After Another. Each chapter and season of my life has an adventure story of some sort.
“Mama always said, Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get." (Forrest Gump)
My most go to quote is from Jesus: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30 (NIV)
When I hear ringing, whistles, dings or bells it is a message to me to answer, respond or personally welcome whoever is needing help. (I assist in office duties.)
I have two favorites. The first is from Adrienne Liesching with Geoff Moore & The Distance; In Christ Alone (My Hope is Found). I heard this song sung at a Beth Moore event during a time in my life when I was questioning if the grace of God was enough to cover me. The answer – absolutely! The lyrics are truth in whom I put my hope.
My all-time favorite artist is Phil Whickham. He has a talent of telling God’s story of grace, love and saving power and turning it into music that is worshipful. Hymn of Heaven was released in 2021 and was cathartic in the face of what the nation suffered through the pandemic. “How I long to breath the air of Heaven where pain is gone and mercy fills the streets... "So let it be today we shout the hymn of Heaven with angels and the saints, we raise a mighty roar Glory to our God who gave us life beyond the grave Holy, holy is the Lord."
I’ve been a listener of KLRC for the past 22 years. Somehow the perfect song always seems to play at a time I need it most – funny how God orchestrates songs, stories, memories, events, people in our lives to draw us to himself. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of a team of co-workers that are talented, funny, God-loving and eager to share hope with our listeners who inspire us with their stories of how God has spoken to them through the music they’ve heard.
