Morning Show Blog

Did you see it?

I admit it, a few weeks ago I jumped on the supermoon bandwagon.

The upside of getting up at 3:30am means you get some amazing views in the sky. and that November morning was spectacular. The moon lit up the sky in a way that made you feel like you were standing in the middle of Times Square.

Even more than its bright beauty, there’s something more that captivated me about the supermoon. All the moon did was simply move closer to earth. Nothing else changed. It’s still the sun who did all the work to light up the darkness. That morning it hit me that God asks the same thing of us. Our job is simply to move in closer… closer to humanity, to this broken but beautiful planet, to the world. He’s the one that does all the shining.

The great Light of the World just asks us to move closer to our neighbors so He can shine in a way that we all take notice.

Isn’t that what Christmas is all about?  God came near and moved in close so He could shine brightly and bring hope and joy to the earth. And 2000 years later He invites us to do the same.

Move in a little closer…

Start a conversation…

Help meet a need…

Just be there when the world feels so dark…

and let Him shine brightly!

“The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Mathew 4:16
