I stood in the make-up aisle, tossing things into my cart with abandon, long after I checked the 2 things off my list I actually came for. I lay in bed that night wondering, “What was that about?” Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew the answer. This weekend is the wedding.

Just over a year ago, I read the headline and was shocked. He was gone. Robin Williams, the man I had grown up laughing with. The man who brought joy to so many people. The man with gifts most of us could only dream of possessing.

I have a friend who marks the passing of the year by two things. Either "Christmas is coming,” or (when Christmas is over and we are sad,) “the days are getting longer. ” It has become an unspoken tradition between us to send each other notes marking the coming and going of these seasons.

My friend and I just sat there while the credits rolled and the theater emptied, trying somehow to stop the tears that had been flowing, well… since the opening credits. It took some serious effort. And some chocolate.

Even before I could read the words for myself or understand the intricacies of character development and plot devices, I've been obsessed with stories. The Disney kind. The made up bed-time kind. The pulled from my own imagination kind. Basically… all the kinds.

It's that time of year. Greeting cards are flying off the shelves. (Or at least they should be. ) This is your official reminder to buy your mom a Mother's day card if you haven't. In addition to Mother's day, graduation is just around the corner for many seniors!.

So we covered a lot of ground this afternoon on the Drive Home!  Starting off with a strange conglomeration of two of my favorite things - cats and coffee. Some folks in New York City found a creative way to connect cat lovers to homeless cats waiting to be adopted.

"Doesn't it just fill you with hope?" Keri asks me as we walk slowly out the front doors. I can tell we're both a little reluctant to leave. And no wonder. It's been one of those days, where we get to glimpse behind the curtain. The intangible became tangible.

It's fun to reminisce about holiday traditions from our childhood, isn't it? But if you're like me, while you might look back on all of those traditions fondly as an adult, there were probably some that you looked forward to much more than others as a young child.

Don't you love spring weather? The growing grass and flowers, the rain showers, and don't forget the lack of ice, sleet, and snow days! One thing about spring that I don't love quite as much (though some do!) but that's definitely necessary is spring cleaning.
