8 Questions with Scott
How long have you been at KLRC?
After a twenty-five year career with a major retailer located in NWA, I joined the KLRC team the 1st of October 2016.
Tell us about your family!
I met my wife Cindy in Speech 101 our freshman year at Harding University. Thirty-two years and four children after saying "I do", she still puts up with me. My kids range in age from 20 to 28, and they are currently all located on the west coast - three boys in Seattle, WA, and our lovely daughter in Fullerton, CA.
What are your favorite hobbies or interests?
I like to read some and I really enjoy yard work. Crazy, huh? I like sports. Football and soccer the most, but baseball and basketball as well. I grew up in Texas, and my dad went to Texas A&M, so I follow the Aggies and all the Dallas sports teams - Cowboys, FC Dallas, Rangers, Mavericks.
I don't drink a lot of soda, but when I do, it's gotta be Dr. Pepper.
What is your favorite movie?
Depnds on the season and what mood I am in. I'm a sucker for sports movies, inspirational stories, and true stories, so stuff like The Blind Side, Remember the Titans, and Greater is always a good bet. For a comedy, I go silly - Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, A Christmas Story, The Princess Bride, Young Frankenstein. For drama - A River Runs Through it, A Beautiful Mind, The Shawshank Redemption. But hands down, my all-time favorite, the one I will sit down to watch anytime day or night and finish it when I find it flipping channels, has to be To Kill a Mockingbird.
Who is your favorite artist that plays on KLRC?
I like 'em all! A couple songs I turn it up for are No Longer Slaves by Jonathan David & Melissa Helser and Dead Man Walking by John Tibbs.
Do you have any quirky habits?
Uhhh, you should probably ask Cindy about that. One I will admit to is being a little (OK, a lot) OCD about things being straight, like pictures on a wall. I will come into your house and start adjusting your family photos - no lie.
What's your favorite part of working at KLRC?
The skill and professionalism that a group of really high-quality people bring to their work. I love being part of this team!
