Stories of Lives Impacted By KLRC

Your Part in My Journey - A Loyal, Learning Listener (8/12/2011)
About a year ago I finally read a book my mom gave me in 1992, The Road Less Traveled by Dr. Scott Peck. At the same time, I was seeing a psychiatrist who happened to be a Christian, and I started listening to your station.
Between the book, the doctor and your music, I decided to do this "unselfish" act and attend church services at my parents' church, so my dad didn't have to sit alone while my mom sang in the choir. I had no intention whatsoever of joining. However, that is exactly what happened, and I was baptized on December 17th of last year.
It was the best gift I have ever received. My life has changed drastically! I listen solely to your station at home on my computer. I appreciate you so much. I was moved to make a faith pledge during your drive, and I am pleased that I have been able to send half already. I know the rest will be provided.
By the way, I am a recovering addict of the worst kind. After years of addiction to Dilaudid and all that goes with that, I was the 23rd patient at the UAMS methadone clinic when it opened in 1993, where I stayed for over 17 years. I have been off methadone for a year. I was recently able to quit weed, and I am ready to live this way.
It's obvious I was unable to do this on my own, but God can do anything. He loves me and wants me to be able to carry His message of hope to others who suffer as I did.
Thank you very much for your part in my journey. You will always have a special place in my heart.
Much love,
A Loyal, Learning Listener
