Getting Recharged - Renee (2/5/2010)

I'm just home from the Listener Appreciation Concert at 1st Baptist in Bentonville. I just have to say may God bless all of those involved in putting this together for our community - from the KLRC staff, the members of 1st Baptist Church, and the artists who gave of their talent and their faith.

I am one of the associates affected by the recent layoffs at WalMart and have to say that this week has been especially trying for me.  I know that God has great plans for me but I am human and have given way to fear and doubt and have felt empty and alone and so very far from grace.  So hopeless and unworthy.  Todd said it best "I am not David," but tonight each one of the artists spoke words of hope straight to my heart.  I left recharged and refreshed.

Not only that, this was my twelve year old son's very first concert in his life.  How blessed am I that it could be with me and close equally yoked friends in such a spiritual place with so many others praising and loving our God.  When the love offering basket was passed my son with no prompting took out his wallet and made an offering.  How wonderful it was to see him moved to such an act of generosity.

So thank you Todd Agnew, Pocket Full of Rocks and Meredith Andrews for your words of praise, your songs, and your inspiration.  Thanks KLRC for supporting the community and bringing the Word to so many.  For this moment in time I feel alright and recharged.
