Stories of Lives Impacted By KLRC
My Therapy is KLRC - Cynthia (10/18/2010)
Where do I start? For the past few years I have dealt with anxiety and depression. It's like an emotional roller coaster. It started with this cloud of depression I've struggled with for about 11 years now.
It was triggered from my drug habits I had since the age of seventeen. I stopped when I was twenty-three. At that time I felt like I had lost myself completely. I had heard about God and knew what He had done for me but didn't REALLY know Him. Know what I mean?
I knew he had saved my family and I from a major house fire two days before Christmas in 1997. I knew He had kept that stray bullet from being fatal when my daughter was struck in a drive-by shooting in 1999. How many times did He he need to show me?
My mother-in-law was killed in an automoble accident about 3 years ago. Ever since then I've tried to overcome this anxiety I have in cars. It's a battle and I don't think I can do on my own. Wait a minute. I was never alone! Recently I've stopped working to get some help with these problems. I went to a doctor and a counselor. It has helped somewhat, but my true healing has to come from within. God has definitely had His hand in it. I've learned some techniques from my counselor, but nothings works like a good ol' fashion getting down on the knees. Prayer has been the best medicine for me.
When I have to go somewhere in a vehicle my biggest therapy is 101.1 KLRC. Seriously, I was so scared to get back in my truck. I found this radio station while cleaning my kitchen about a month ago. I remember listening to my praise and worship CD's like 10 years ago and remember the soothing feeling I had while driving. How happy it made. me I decided to see if maybe listening to KLRC could help me and it absolutely did!
Plus, I have teenagers and they love alternate rock music. They have it on that station all the time now. Thank you for helping me in all this. You all are such blessings. I never thought I would be getting back into a car without the fear being there. With God anything is possible.
Thank you all, and God bless.

when im down i always listen to klrc and it is always up lifting. my cousin just recently comitted suicide because he was a addicted and believed he couldnt live without drugs. im sorry to hear that youve been through that. just know that God will always be there for you. dont be depressed because you are more than the choices you make, you are more than the sum of your past mistakes, and you are more than the problems that you create. you have been remade into somebody new. just know that God loves you and even though some things wont get better just know that he does hear your cry for help and he is right beside you. if you want to see or feel a change you yourself have to be the change. dont let anybody or anything stand in your way and choose the path you feel is best for you and your family.
